29th July 2010: Team Announced for
Willie Maddren Trophy
Marske have announced part of the team
that will be taking on Bernie Slaven's
Boro XI in the Willie Maddren Trophy on
Sunday.
There will be a mini reunion at the GER
Stadium as a host of former players and
legends make up the Marske United team
for the afternoon.
Neil Hodgson, Michael Kinnair, Brian
Crawley, Nicky Ward, Simon Kasonali and
Shane Breckon will all take part, as
will current team manager Paul Burton
and physio Jama Atkinson. John Woods
and Mark James are also hoping to make
it.
Joining them in the side will be
sponsors Alan Brittain, Paul Roberts,
Lee Wharfe, Carl Brown and Andy Jackson,
as well as Guisborough's Kev Wood and
Whitby Town goalkeeper Dave Campbell.
Kick-off is at 2pm, and entry to the
ground is just £2 for adults and £1 for
kids.

26th July 2010: Marske Sign Ex-Boro Star
Anthony Ormerod
Marske United are pleased to announce
the signing of former Middlesbrough
midfielder Anthony Ormerod.
The club have been tracking the
31-year-old for a number of seasons now,
but he has always been playing regularly
at a much higher level.
Ormerod scored on his Middlesbrough
debut as an 18 year-old, against
Bradford City back in the 1997-98 season
and went on to make a further 18
appearances for the club before enjoying
loan spells at Carlisle United, Bury,
York and Hartlepool.
After leaving Boro, he spent the 2002-03
season in the Conference with
Scarborough, and joined Whitby Town a
season later where he has since played
239 times.
The club is delighted to have got their
man, and he will join fellow new players
Lewis Wood (Thornaby), Adam Gell (Seaham),
Lee Donaghie & Micky Dalton (Billingham
Town), Dale Mendum (Stokesley), Mitchell
Morris (Middlesbrough Academy) and Danny
Dixon (Billingham Synthonia).
