Saturday 1st October 2011...Marske sign new centre back, Leon Carling

Marske United this afternoon completed the signing of defender Leon Carling from Sunderland RCA.

Previously with Norton and Stockton, Leon has a good pedigree in the Northern league and is a strong centre half who reads the game well.

Friday 30th September 2011...Marske sign new goalkeeper, Graeme Willey

As part of the agreement that may see Craig Skelton move in the opposite direction, Marske United have signed goalkeeper Graeme Willey from second division Thornaby.

‘Lipps’ brings the contingent of former Grangetown Boys Club players up to four with Steve Cochrane, Glenn Wesson and Michael Wilson also back in the squad.

The keeper previously played for Marske back in the 2004/05 season when he made 34 appearances and kept eight clean sheets.
His last game for the club came at the start of the 2005/06 season, in a 3-1 FA Cup defeat at Ramsbottom United.
Since leaving the club in 2005 he has played regularly in the Teesside League for the Boys Club where he has won a couple of league titles, and this season he’s had a brief stint at Thornaby, for whom he played for on Tuesday night in their 2-0 win over Esh Winning.

Tuesday 6th September 2011...Marske announce Past Football Notions as their new Programme Sponsor

Wednesday 24th August 2011...Marske to hold a race night on Saturday 3rd September

Marske will be holding their first event of the new season with a Race Night at the club house on Saturday 3rd September. Tickets are £2.50 and if anyone wants to sponsor a race it will be £25 per race. The fun starts at 8pm so get yourself there and have a great night in at the races! Thursday 11th August 2011...Marske appoint Rebecca Kelly as new physio

Marske have appointed Rebecca Kelly as the new club physio. Rebecca replaces Jamma Atkinson who retired at the end of last season. Rebecca is from Ingleby Barwick and trained at the University of Teesside, graduating in sport therapy. She has worked with several football clubs since gaining her qualifications, and describes herself as outgoing, with a passion for socialising with friends. The club welcomes Rebecca, and looks forward to having her as part of our team.

 

 

 

 

Monday 25th July 2011...Marske announce a vacancy for a new club physio

Marske United FC are currently looking to recruit a physiotherapist. The position is voluntary but very rewarding and would suit an individual that has either retired or student who is looking for hands on experience in this field. We are looking for persons suitably qualified and capable of fulfilling the role. This will involve working with the first team on Match days and at training sessions. Expenses will be available.

Jamma Atkinson decided to retire after devoting 10 years service to the club. As a club we would like to thank Jamma for his support and input over the past decade and wish him the very best for the future.

Saturday 16th July 2011... 2 New Faces and 2 Familiar Ones Sign on for Marske

Marske are pleased to announce that Steve Cochrane and Rob Jones have signed on for another season at the GER Stadium.

Also, new boys Tom Lumb and Adam Wheatley have signed. Tom is a local young goalkeeper signed as cover for McDonald. Adam Wheatley is well known in NL circles after 4 years in Stokesley's senior team, and several as a junior. The talented defender can play anywhere across the back four, and his efforts helped Stokesley to promotion last season.
