Meet The Team
Management for the 2010/2011 Season
Paul Burton
(right hand side) is the current manager of
Marske United FC. His assistant is Mark Riley
(left hand side).
Having spent ten successful years as a player
with Whitby Town, Paul Burton's step into
management came at Nunthorpe Athletic in the
Teesside League where he teamed up with
long-term friend Mark Riley.
The pair spent five successful seasons at
Nunthorpe before joining Northallerton Town in
2004.
They guided Town to promotion in their second
full season and consolidated a place in the
Northern league first division with a 12th place
finish, before quitting to take time out of the
game.
With their batteries refreshed, the duo jumped
at the chance to get back into the game when
they were offered the vacant Marske United hot
seat in January 2008.
Burto and Rilo just missed out on
their aim of promotion in the 2008/09 season, but replaced
it with a fantastic run in the FA Vase that
culminated in defeat at runners-up Glossop North
End in the quarter-final.
Last season
the lads went one place better with a 4th place
finish, narrowly missing out on promotion. This
season they will be hoping for a bit more luck
and that prize of promotion to Division One.
